A fresh, bright Cabernet Sauvignon bursting with cassis and red cherry fruit notes. Gentle cedar and tobacco notes add some nice complexity. The palate is straight-forward and delicious – red berry flavours are complemented by supple, well handled tannins, nice acid structure and a juicy finish.
2020 started with a warm dry spring, followed by an aboverage warm and dry summer. Yields were low allowing fruit to mature earlier and faster than is normal. Wines from 2020 show softer textured and fleshy palates with ripe expressive aromas.
Machine picked in the cold early morning and destemmed to both open and closed fermenters, allowed to cold soak until the temerature warmed up for fermentation to initiate. 7 days on skins and pressed to a mixture of older oak and stainless steel for maturation to allow the wines soft, expressive fruit to shine.
