From an excellent growing season and vintage, our 2022 The Sum Sauvignon Blanc is pale green gold in the glass. Bright, fresh and extremely approachable, there are plenty of passionfruit and pineapple aromas on the nose, while the palate has delicious juicy acidity, more passionfruit notes and hints of guava and lime juice filling out the finish. All in all we think this is a truly more-ish wine!

2022 vintage started after a very long cold and wet winter with full soil profiles, abnormormlly cold temperatures in September delayed bud burst and subsequent cold temperatures all the way through the season saw a late flowering, later veraison and later than normal harvesting. However with cool temperatures comes long maturation time on the vine yielding exceptional fruit intensity and purity of varietal expression.
Grapes were machine harvested in the cold of the early morning, allowed to soak on skins for 12 hours prior to pressing. Soaking on skins allows full extration of the intense Sauvignon Blanc aromatics. The juice was lees stirred for 72 hours prior to clarification to build palate intensity and texture. Bottled early after fermentation to capture the freshness.
